Center for Entrepreneurship
As one of the eight partners in the Business Assistance Center, NWTC’s Center for Entrepreneurship offers an array of services and resources to new and existing businesses aspiring to grow and enhance their success.
The Center for Entrepreneurship services includes the following:
- A unique one-on-one entrepreneurial readiness assessment that helps entrepreneurs determine their strengths and their deficiencies, and outlines remedial training designed to reduce the risk of entrepreneurship.
- A series of credit and non-credit classes to help entrepreneurs determine the feasibility of their business concept. These classes all use the highest quality curricula, are condensed to save you time, and delivered by top notch trainers at time that serve your busy schedule best, all at affordable prices.
The Center for Entrepreneurship also houses the Targeted Business Development Program which is specifically designed for minority and woman-owned businesses who are currently operational, or those who will launch soon, who are involved in the areas of construction/renovation and professional services. The Entrepreneurship Foundations Certificate course with formal classroom training is included in this program.
This course provides 75 hours of formal classroom training in important aspects of entrepreneurship from credit management to advertising, public relations to insurance selection. The formal training will conclude with time spent on professional development and resource management.
In addition, there is a concurrent segment on business plan creation, followed by one-to-one meetings for business development assistance to help the owners improve their current level of expertise in the four business functional areas of leadership, marketing, management, and finance.
The Targeted Business Development Program is open to minority and woman-owned businesses meeting the following five eligibility criteria:
- Located in Brown County or the Oneida Reservation.
- Certified of certifiable as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
